Learner-centered learning: where to begin

1. Is it always wise to allow students to choose their assignment tools (as the author suggested)? We would expect various choices from the students, for sure. What do we do to minimize the confrontation that may arise?

2. If learner-centered means designing teaching strategies as per the demand of learners how far it is practical to be apply the concept in reality?
